It’s been a while since I’ve known Naufal’s problem. Yet, I haven’t found the right therapy center for him. I love Klinik Pela, but the thing is, the place is very very crowded.. during the session which would require Nau to wait for about 15 to 30 minutes, Nau would interact with many children, some with hyperactivity, some with autism and others.. 15 minutes would be enough for him to copy cat all their behaviour. Naufal would jump on the couch, or rolling on the floor together, messing up the receptionist desk, or keep on jumping with the hyperactive boy.

And to make it worse, the only schedule I got from Pela is Naufal to have a session on 1 PM every thursday! And that my friend, is the beginning of a disaster. Why, because such hour is Naufal nap time. Mostly, he would fall aslep during the trip to the klinik which would not be enough for him. But, the playing around thingy would distract him. Soon, he would refuse to sleep and keep on playing. But, since he’s tired.. he would be cranky. It means, hell would lose baby! He would throw his tantrum at me for asking him to stop playing and entering the class. Although the sensory integration class is very fun for him, suddenly a little distraction would make him refuse to stop the session. No matter than I’ve paid full price for a full session.

So, I’ve decided to look for other theraphy center that are near our house, not so crowded and have an empty time slot in morning hour. Kudos to the internet, I found full list of theraphy center on Dunia Ibu website. I called most of them, and so far I’ve found only 3-4 place near the house which we could consider. But, man… it’s so time consuming! And sometimes, the therapist just won’t listen to what I need. For example, three days after the assesment, one of the center said that Nau would go through a full 3 months observation theraphy. He would get an ocupational theraphy and sensory integration (which I agreed) and a SPEECH THERAPHY!! My God! He did heard my son babling like a parrot all the way during the assesment! He surely do not need a speech theraphy! And when I confront the idea, he lost his words! That’s because he mistaken my Naufal with somebody else! That is a very bad image for such therapist right!

And I also tired with the telephone survey thingy.. Have to repeat the same conversation over and over again, and while I talked, they would say something like, “Offcourse, your son could go to our center, bla-bla-bla-bla” and when I asked, do you have the special sensory integration class (sensory integration would require a large room with a lot of playing ground, where chikldren could jump, climb, crawl, etc), they would answer with, “However, unfortunately, we do not have the special class, bla-bla-bla!”… I feel I would scream on her face, “and why did you say Nau could attend your theraphy?” What a waste on pulsa!

Not to mention the money I’ve spent on each assesment. They don’t provide a free lunch you know! Today, I took a day off from the office, I have an assesment appointment with one of them. I hope this would be the last of my theraphy journey!
