Last night, me and Ocha plus one (not her significant other, hehehe) watched Harry Potter, the Order of the Phoenix. I am deeply dissapointed. They just didn’t make it with style. Though the duel scene is very very very great. I love it, yet I hate how they transformed the rest of the book.

Okay, I have to admit that compiling hundred of pages to 2 hours-movie is hard. But at least, do not change the story! Too many details were skipped or changed from the last one. I hate how they make the dementors. They ruined my imagination. For example, JKR described the dementors as a tall wraith like creatures, well-covered in dark, hooded cloaks which reveal only grey, decayed hands. You can never see the face of dementor unless they decide to ‘kiss you’ where it will clamps its jaws on the mouth of the victim. But this movie showed me a skeleton-look dementors..! They’re not very consisten, are they! The things they showed us at HP 3 were perfect.. and this movie just ruined it. We need some consistency mr. movie producer..

Not to mention some scenes that are completely different with the books. For example: where’s the scene where Ron and Hermione were choosen as the prefects? How the Dumbledore’s army got busted, Cho ratted their friends when in fact it’s not Cho.. it’s her friend, silly producer. We missed the hospital visit where Harry learned about Neville’s parent, The Weasley’s amazing departure from Hogwarts.. (it should be Harry’s premonition, the weasley diversion, and weasley departure.. not the opposite), McGonaggal being sent to St Mungo’s for Umbridge’s attack… I don’t like how they make Dolores Umbridge.. too fashion-aware.. it’s like Dolores ‘Channel” Umbridge to me… She’s too well dressed for a witch, where JKR on the fourth book clearly pointed at how the wizard and witch unable to dress in muggle’s way. I missed her “Uhmmm…Uhmmm…”. As Harry reading Snape’s mind.. that’s not what happened. Harry felt to his pensieve, that’s how he knew about his father bullying Snivellus. They even skipped most of the most important part, Dumbledore’s explanation about the premonition of Harry and Neville!

And the most disturbing part is to watch it in Indonesian theatre. Who did all the translations? hey we’re not moron.. anyone who’s watching the movie must be a fan hence reading the book from cover to cover, we don’t need you to translate Levi Corpus or death eater as “Gantung Terbalik and Pelahap Maut“. It’s a pain in my eyes.

I am very very very dissapointed…

ps: I like how they make Luna ‘Loony’ Lovegood and the Thestral, I like Luna’s hair….damn, I am so close at going to the hairdresser and ask for a hair extension.. haha!
